This is so high on our bucket list, too.  Mind sharing some details about which trip you're doing?

Should be a blast. Been planning it for years, that shit ain't cheap!

Doing any fishing?  I know nothing of what that area has to offer, but it seems like it doesnt get any more untapped than Antarctica.

Here is a real suggestion, that's not very expensive and is my new favorite head lamp:  https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/product/storm-400-headlamp/

At 50$ I find it has some great features and lasts a long time on 4 AAA's, depending on usage.  The feature I like best is the PowerTap function to switch between regular power and high power.  You activate it by just taping the right hand side of it and it jumps to the spotlight mode at full power.  This is exceptionally good for fishing or with dirty hands you can use the side of your hand to trigger full output when you need to quickly.  It also has Red, Blue, and Green led lighting for keeping your night vision.
