Any recommendations where to catch stripers in delta or the SF bay November and December? I heard Montezuma slough is good but also heard about catalytic converter theft in the launch parking. So I am concerned about parking in a place where most or all cars are fishermen’s who leave the cars for hours. Ideally launching from a paid marina or a parking lots shared with hikers or tourists.
I caught stripers in Alameda rock wall when I saw birds diving. But that is a hit and miss. I also launched from big break once but only caught small fish. Another place I tried was Cullinan Ranch but no luck.
Looking for new place to fish.

I'll be watching this thread.

Been to Sherman Lake once before and got skunked throwing pearl big hammers, and red/white deep diver plugs.

Saw plenty of something jumping right at dawn though!

Thanks. I will definitely give it a try. Do you launch from Sherman county park or Sherman lake marina?

I don't know personally, but have heard several times over the years the term "fall striper run" for the delta.  Google searching 'delta fall striper run' yielded a lot of results, but i'm not gonna post them, didn't even read them.

Another vote for Sherman lakes and the chain islands near the sand mound launch area.

I used to really enjoy soaking live jumbo minnows near the bottom. If you try the live bait, I used to get mine at Gotcha Bait on the west side of hwy 160 in Oakley. Best action always came when I set up my drifts to go over structure and depth changes, also along the reed lines that surround the chain islands. The quality should be very nice this time of year if you get into them.

Good luck
With gratitude and humility

I’m heading out for stripers on Friday from Martinez. I’ll give a fish report on how it went after.

No experience or info but I've always wanted to try fishing for striper around the Alviso slough. I hear the notch is a good spot when the gates to the salt ponds open up. People fish there from the bank even though it's illegal. Fishing from a boat/kayak is fine.
