Assuming all the live-well hatch openings on all the Stealth models have the same dimensions , can anyone , if they’re willing , post the ID measurement ?

Thanks

Vic/Spiffy

Yes..still waiting LOL

I will measure today.  What I've learned is the well stays as full as the depth the kayak sits in the water.  I've cut a longer drain extension by 1" to hold a touch more water though I'm not sure it holds.  Best case, fill it and plug it then change the water out as you go to maintain fresh supply.  To fill higher then how low you sit in the sea, I have a container to top it off...I'm suspecting it holds certainly up to 4 gallons... :smt006

Eddie, curious as to what you're using for the drain extension.  My 525 just came with plugs so I've been on the lookout for a tight-fit drain tube.  With just the plugs out, I'd guess the hatch fills to ~2.5" in the front, maybe 3.5" in back because of its shape.  Fine for smaller bait, but it could definitely fill at least a couple gallons more...

Thanks Eddie , was just curious about  when not using the live well , say for RF , don’t need live bait for them , since they’re not picky .Was thinking in lines with using it as secondary storage , perhaps with circular/round storage device..

Waiting on the kayak … so the mind is wandering..that can be both good or bad ..LOL

Congrats CJ on the 525

14”L 8”H 12”W  the back tapers from the top down so the height decreases but I could visualize a stack o’ fish in there for sure...for me better for tackle when not in use, but heck, maybe you just gave a a bleed out well that I never knew I had, thanks brah... :smt006

Thanks Vic, I have to give credit where it's due.  Your old Revo set the stage for me to want a fast boat.  Hope yours comes in soon.

FWIW, the inner diameter of the livewell hatch is 5 7/8" by my measurement.  It's a threaded opening, so that is the diameter to clear the threads.  If you were looking set a bucket on top of the threads, it would need to have a lip diameter of 6 1/8".  But then you probably wouldn't be able to secure the hatch lid, which may not be as big of a deal since you have three other flotation compartments..

It's been covered in other threads, but a hobie 8" gear bucket fits perfectly in the rear hatch.

Hey don’t blame me for your fun ..LOL…that’s on you slayer

Knew about rear hatch but wanted to tinker with something in the live well , still close the hatch , bucket IMO would be in the way …been looking on line and most items fit the 5 gallon buckets so ..nah on that.. I’m gonna see what I can come up with for the heck of it.

Anyway thanks for the dimensions

Enjoy that 525

I've just been using a small dry bag for the LW hatch.  It doesn't help much in terms of organization, but easy enough to pull out and keeps things dry if a drain plug gets knocked loose.

For anyone who needs the specs, I measured the OD of the stock drain tube a while ago with calipers and it's 13mm or 1/2 inch, but you could easily shim a slightly loose fit with electrical tape or similar waterproof tape.

I've also seen a couple of videos of mods with pumps installed. Should be easy enough to rig. Useful for delicate or XL baits. Here's one:

I found some aluminum hollow bar from a hanging shoe rack and put some black tape around the end for a snug fit.  The stock tube kept floating out...

Vic I grabbed a few tackle boxes to see what would fit. The biggest small box that I had laying around that fit well was this flambeau. Not sure on the model, but it’s approximately 9x5x1.5 inches and waterproof. Could probably stack 3 in there.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas.

CJ, I got you brother. That kayaks should have had a tube in the livewell. Hit me up and come by, I'll give you one.

I was also considering designing and 3d printing a tackle box that would drop into the live well like the round ones available for the older hobies with round hatches.  If there is enough interest perhaps its something I will spend some time on developing.

The plugs seem to keep my live well dry when I am on the water, so using it for storage is definitely a viable option.
