Wow! What a feisty fish!

Thanks for the detailed report, and glad to hear that the landing worked out.
Feisty indeed.  I think landing wise, there is a new way to do it, so hopefully we all figure out what to do.

thanks for the report.

Great idea of re-launching and re-landing the kayak after all of the heavy gear is off-loaded. It's a lot of work at the end of the day but its worth it I suppose.

When the waves are crashing against the wall, just be cautious that the residue energy from the wave that crash against the wall will go back out causing a mini rip-current. If you jump out and no one is to grab the front of the kayak, it will get pulled back into the danger zone. Ask me how I know lol luckily nothing happen :)

where are all the kayakers that went to the dark side this year. I thought motor kayak was easy to catch salmon? lol

Anyways you been reporting all season unlike people who PM me asking for intel and not posting lol Happy Monday!

We all appreciate your reports and all that, but no need to do what you're doing, its not a good look.  Some people post reports, some don't.  Some talk shit about motors, some don't.  Just the way it is, don't be cocky man...you're better than that.
If you ain't first, you're last.

Some fish out of bodega, maybe there is a chance for one more :)
Go catch your BFT, I am thinking the chances are about the same, but longer day/resources for BFT.  I have a true BFT setup, but not the leader.  Coming soon though ....

Oh yes longer days for sure when you are hooked up and fighting a fish for 5 hours lol IYKYK

What setup did you get? Have another one coming this week that should cut that 5 hours down to 2 hours lol big ass tuna right now!! Make sure gear is ready for it lol 250 lbs landed over the weekend

A good friend told me I would never forget landing my first salmon, but I already did.

What I remember the most was the one that fought for almost 50 minutes. At the time I didn’t have a sufficiently big net so I wanted to tire the fish. I was new, but in my head I got all the steps and tips and was following them like a computer on an infinite loop.
Finally I got the fish so close I could touch it. It was so tired it didn’t move when I tried to scoop it. The fish was in the small net, but one hook got stuck in the net, pulling the other out of the fish. Still the fish isn’t moving it’s so beat. But it was heavy and slimy and only part of it in the net, it slid in slow motion and fell into the water. The fish didn’t move and I could see it just sinking slowly. I almost reached into the water to grab it back.

Now you see; you will never forget the fish that you loose.
So I hear your pain. Sorry

Exactly as what happened last year at HMB. I lost my potential PB fish this way (25LB+). My net was just big enough but I should just toss my rod and use both hands to pull the net in. The bag of the net stuck on the bungee button of the Revo 13 and the fish was on the net instead of in the net. So painful to watch the fish slowly slipping back into the water.

Haha. My wife knows me all too well. I don’t need to say anything. The reason I know is because when I landed my first one this year she was really happy, despite having purchased farmed salmon from Costco the week before…
