Did a road trip to the Kalmath on a buddies North River (Sweet).  We fished hard for 2 days.  I had one huge Salmon on but he unbuttoned after a few minutes.  The Bird and Bunny people (DFG) said out of 35 fishermen, only (2) steelies were logged in.  The salmon bite is even slower.  The water was very warm, about 73-74.  The rumor is on Sunday, "They" are going to release a bunch of water in an attempt to cool it.

Mako... Im gonna call my guide buddy in a couple of days to get a report...MORE TO FOLLOW.

Flows were to be increased significantly on a temporary basis for a native American brush dance ceremony up in the Hoopa valley - tomorrow I think...

The paper had fish being caught at Johnson's and down, but you've got to wonder how much of that is talk to generate fishing trips...

Good luck on another trip, and keep giving up the reports - I'm thinking of heading up there some time soon for some estuary trolling.

I am a licensed guide.  DFW Guide ID:  1000124.   Let's do a trip together.

Some of the BIG WIG guides even had there thumb aiming to the water.  The drive sucks when the bite is slow.  Whats happening with Stone Lagoon?  ANYBODY ????

Thanks for the report. I'd rather hear it from someone who's been there. Too bad it's slow. Where'd you fish?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I cant remember all of the holes, but black bear, blue creek...  We stayed at terwer resort, down from the Steelhead lodge and little rays tackle.  We launched and went up hitting holes upstream for 5+ miles

I called my buddy, and the cooler water is showing up.  they picked up a few on Sunday.  If you haven't, you owe it to yourself to goto the SteelHead for dinner AWESOME food.

I was on the Trinity the 15th through the 18th of August, and even though I caught no large steelhead (too early kinda and fly fishing is tough) my buddy landed two very nice ones on spinners for one and a half days of fishing.  He was very lucky, but there were fish. We saw a couple rolling also. I sure hope the fish start moving up. I hope to go back up again.  I even kayked to a couple riffles that were very hard to get to.  Nothing like a sit on top on a rapid.     :smt003
