MBK Sunday Fun Day!

Going to hit MBK do a shake down run on my old AI and make sure it's ready to head up to SC next week.  Hope to see some familiar faces OTW tomorrow!

Are you going to car top and launch from the beach? I've done that a few times, and it's a good full-body workout. Maybe too good...

I've never launched from the harbor. Since I have a trailer now, I'd prefer to launch from a ramp, but suspect it'll be mobbed with boaters on Sunday.

Ah, well I'm only doing single ama, instead of the FULL AI, and will launch off MBK.  But it's been a while since I've used it, and was sitting in the dirt.  Before setting out in the full AI I have some repairs to do, check all the rigging and clean/lube all the things.  But with a pair of Wheeleez I've always been able to take the whole AI from the parking lot to the launch in one trip.  One more trip to go put the wheels in the truck and put on my dry suit. 

Thinking about launching there tomorrow too.  Are you planning to launch at the park  next to the kayak shop?

Ya, I feel the same way.  Just car topping the AI is a sports on its own, I would say trailer all the way.

I am not known for an early bird when come to kayak fishing.   Will try to be there around 7am.  Will be around the hotel area fishing for Halibut.   May trolling for Salmon on the way there and on the way back.  Can't find the charger for my radio so will look around for you OTW.

It's a beautif but slow day.  Met Steve and AL OTW.  Got a nice water rherapy session and good workout.

Nothing to report other than a fun day of exercise and getting some smelt to drift over some sand for nada. Found a honey hole for sarcastic fringeheads. Saw a dolphin and lots of otters. Great conditions until noon, just flat and glassy.

Those things are crazy. I caught one once that was about 6" long and it wouldn't stop trying to bite me long enough to get a decent picture...
