Howdy!   Launched from Fort Ross at 0700, swell straight into the cove but easy launch between  sets.  Headed North, out to around 145’.  I fished my pitbull swim bait for the first hour with no bites.  Switched up to shrimp flies and started picking up rockfish.  Nice assortment today with coppers, bronzes, canaries and olives making up my limit.  Caught and released some big yellow eyes, and my first china rockfish.  Bait seemed sparse today, no bites on the sabiki all day.  Lots of  jellyfish again.  Switched back to the swim bait and worked it pretty hard without success for an hour or so before heading in. Landing was more challenging than usual with the swell straight in but I managed to keep it straight and landed safe.  Good times!

This is a great report. Was watching the south swell and thought the return would be a little troublesome. Congrats on a successful day!

Thanks for the report! I was thinking of hitting Timber Cove tomorrow and unsure how challenging conditions would be. Windy shows swells and wind should be better than today so that seems promising.

Thanks for the report, haven't ever fished Fort Ross and would have no idea where to go but would really like too. Have been trying to research, and am thinking I may try sometime this week.
