hey team - longtime angler here on my 20 ft CC but I just picked up a Hobie Revo for a great price and keeping it at my buddies in Pacifica. Few questions:

(1) What is the difference in launching at Linda Mar vs Rockaway? Is one better than the other pending surf conditions or tides? Pros and cons of each?
(2) I know this is a subjective question, but what are your limits for swell height to launch from either Linda Mar or Rockaway?
(3) For surf launching, are you guys mostly wearing wet suits? They're pretty uncomfortable for an all day trolling expedition so curious if anyone else wears something else like kayak pants or something else?

Thanks all - let's hope the salmon start to show up on the san mateo coast soon :)

Thats a very good question. A lot of people prefer south of LM claiming its easy access to Pedro Point (fishing access). I prefer Rockaway I find it more easy launching. I don't like surf hahaha.

interesting thanks for the note. So in your experience, Rockaway is usually calmer than LM?

To me it is. I've launch at LM before knowing Rockaway Launch, Lets just Say Marvin (Shicken) (RIP Bro) Rolling on the beach laughing so hard, but still helped me collect my floating stuff  :smt005 :smt044

I always jump early in LM. Good thing is that it has shallow water where I can wade in and out with my AI

LM is my back yard. I’ve done Rockaway and find it easier. But I still like LM for the access to Pedro. LM launch and landing will present different challenges every time. Mainly high surf, backswash, and slippery rocks at 1-3ft deep, which can be dangerous for falling or walking on and at best will scar your kayak.
I also tend to jump early - as early at 2-3ft deep sometimes when I land. No shame.
Also : strap your gear and protect your reel from sand. Don’t leave anything sticking out. It will break. Trust me.
I love this place.

Hey Nusharker or anyone, I'd be interested in tagging along for a trip to Pedro Point.  I'm kind of new and only fish the Alameda Rockwall a couple of times.

Nice catch.  For a minute there I thought you caught those from your Yak.  DM me when you have your yak setup for some fishing.
