How do I order?  I'd like to get a couple sets of RF flys
I just got a bunch of ostrich CORRECTION Emu feathers from a friend - natural color, apparently she stepped on the tail plume by accident, it stood up and walked away. It's an interesting group of feathers, thought I might tie up some RF flies with the sturdier feathers.

so, truth in advertising, I'll be looking closely at how you did this and try to copy :)

thanks,
Brian.

Totally Brian. I like the straight/flattish feathers for tying rockfish flies. Just shoot me a pm with how many packs (2 in each) and light or dark colored and I can get those out to you. Let me know if you have any questions and I can give you some advice. I haven’t dabbled w/ ostrich. Interested to hear how they turn out.

Trolled the sand lance behind an 8oz banana and a small 6" silver dodger this weekend.

Didnt find chrome but caught limits of verm, ling, and some shorty cali halis on that rig. Super fun little fly you made man.

I coated it in the herring grease scent and sent it down behind that dodger maybe 24" to give it some nice action, so nice not worrying about checking bait all the time, this thing worked out sooo well. Great product and changing leaders on it is super simple due to the way you attached the back hook. Cant do that with mooching rigs, I have to swap them out every time the leader gets chafed.

Will need more soon. Lost one fly to the rocks and my current setup is chewed to shit but still working lol.

I would be all over your flies if not for my bait addiction, Max.  Please push a pack on me when you see me at the Cove, and I'll thrown down the Jacksons.   :smt001

Curious about the sandlance. Are these meant to be trolled or can you drift?

They are made for trolling but a slow “trooch” behind a banana weight works well too…

Folks,
Time to gear up for rockfishing and halibut this May. I've got flies and sandlance coming and made on request. Some locals here in Humboldt County say the sandlance is also excellent for CA halibut.
Hit me up,
Max
