Hey ya'll

Gonna hit up Lake Berryessa in the wee hours of the morning launching from the Pope creek day use area and fishing all around for some bass.

If anyone wants to join hmu! I'll be in the sand dune 2019 Outback.

I did that Pope Creek launch once this year with the Outback and was only able to after meeting another Norcal Kayaker there. It is a 2 person job for an Outback for sure, especially getting back up. Putah Creek at $15 is worth it. Cappell Cove launch might still be free. It was earlier. Someone recently caught another 14 lb Largemouth.

If a seagull poops on you, statistically it was no accident.

I ended up not doing this trip due to the wind.

Tried out O'Neil Forebay instead because the wind forecast looked a little better. Heard one guy say he caught some stripes near check#12...but he had already "sold" them all by the time I talked to him. Dead anchovies were allegedly the ticket.

I trolled Rapalas and another red + white deep diving minnow at various depths (6 - 12ft) near the transition area between the channel and the flats around check #13. No bites but I saw tons of carp if anyone targets those.  The wind picked up so I moved to the shore fished near check #12. Didn't see anyone land anything for the 3 hours I was there. Tried anchovies on a 3-way rig and flutter spoons with no success.

Still somewhat new to the forum, is there a way to delete or modify the post? I don't want people to be mislead and think there's useful info here on Berryessa.

I will post again when I go back out. Thanks for all the tips so far.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan
