Has anyone used an anchor wizard as a downrigger? It was just a random thought that came into my head today as I was considering getting a downrigger... if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

The best thing to use as a downrigger is a downrigger.  Forget about trying to use an Anchor Wizard as a downrigger.  For some general thoughts about how to set up your kayak for downrigger trolling, and an explanation of how to downrigger troll from a kayak, see my post at https://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=12575.0.

I had a feeling, but thanks for the article.. I will certainly refer to it as I make my decision and install. I am open to recommendations from anyone else especially those who troll for salmon on the ocean.

...see my post at https://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=12575.0.

This is the best thing ever written on downriggering from a kayak. My setup is pretty similar to pmmpete’s depthmaster setup.
