Trolled herring at lake Berryessa for my first land lock King salmon off the kayak.  I had a lot of missed opportunities, however it was a tough day for everyone.  Most got skunked or had only 1 king for the day.

Nice king

I had never been there before, but I tried a few hours out there the other day after watching all the videos of people hitting that spot and limiting this week.  There were a lot of other boaters and kayaks, but a couple hundred thousand youtube views can have that effect...  One boat caught 1 king, one kayaker caught 1 smallmouth.  Most people I talked to (including me) skunked.  Pretty place to fish, but I'm gonna stick to the ocean.

Nice catch ! I was hoping to sneak up there this weekend myself but now that the cat is out of the bag and that area is getting hammered, I might chase bass or head elsewhere.

Where's the nearest launch ramp to this kokanee paradise?  I'll be coming from Healdsburg with a little inflatable.

Pretty sure it’s blown up now, but with an inflatable I’d park on the side of the road and walk down.

Heard that it was a zoo over the weekend. Between the nice weather and the recent YouTube exposure, it seemed that every able-bodied fisherman descended on that end of the lake. Not surprisingly, I didn't hear of many salmon being caught.

My kids are on spring break.  We'd probably go during the week, and we're looking to see the place where all the celebrity expert fishermen are fishing.   :smt003
