Those Tasty Kakes look damn good right now.   :smt005
Butterscotch and coffee cake :smt007 smoke birthday cake in my sophisticated palette opinion...hope I don't find em'...never seen em'...
Never seem em either, my gut is hoping I never find em.

Tastykake is an east coast classic, I'm from PA originally.  Krimpets are fire.

20 years ago, I knew a guy with an auto paint shop near their warehouse.  He had a deal with them, discounts on paint work in exchange for full sealed cases of treats that were near their "best by" date.  He was not a skinny dude  :smt044

MMMMM!!! The butterscotch krimpets were my jam growing up in NJ.  We had a friend who drove for Drake's Cakes and every now and then a box of Sunny Doodles would fall off the back of it near our place.

Vash - go getum (Both the fish and the cakes).  Looking forward to reading about all the awesomeness that you will experience.

As far as salty SOMA goes, forget about it.  Wonder if he had the same response to the folks from Paradise "living off of tax dollars".

and my grandfarther was the foreman on highway 1 between Carmel and SLO when it was being built (damn I'm old).  Tax dollars paid his wage but he worked a hard and honest life.

If you head up Hwy 50, I have directions to a lot of tiny kayak lakes; Slab creek reservoir, Brush creek reservoir, Robbs Forebay, Gerle Creek reservoir, etc....  Haven't heard any mac reports out of Union Valley, but it's usually good this time of year if the wind stays down.

Oh, and I prefer Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies.  If you do come out this way....  Just sayin'....

The point being California taxes paying state or state contracted employees to work while the same state government locks down private citizens businesses and private employment.

I think your saltiness is misdirected my man, this disdain is best aimed at the governor and not his subjects.

Which is obviously 100% Vash's fault, correct?

What type of logic brings you to that conclusion?

A road trip would be way much more fun to search out said Tastykakes...In lieu of that .........

https://www.tastykake.com/product-locator

add the appropriate zip code

BTW back in the day the OG`s may well have renamed Vash with a new handle  as a result of this Tastykakes phenomena , to none other than Tastykake..and he would have to accept it.

To be named by an OG was once considered an  honor of great magnitude

I’m not an OG but I already pronounce “Vash” as “tastykakes” in my head.

This thread has slight late winter novelties.  SOTW’s love hate relationship with cupcakes could very well be the beginning of this generational event.  Vash, the victim of vacation on the taxpayers dime is going to find us tastycakes all up and down the coast or freshwater inland for a freedom sentence of 30 days.  All of his tasty cake waypoints are gonna be worthy for relationship throughout the land.  Potential quote from Sir Vash, “I was drifting over this pinnacle with a fat dead herring at such and such a coordinate and my drag started ripping, my rod went full bendo and my tastycake flew out of my hand. I tried to catch it, missed the bite and almost flipped my yak!”  After getting a hold of myself and what just happened, I was glad I still had 5 more Butterscotch in the box.”  “I’ve got pics of said confectionary flying upward with glassy seas on the horizon.”

If you listen closely you’ll hear Vash hollering “fish on!”   :smt007 :smt006

Its possible to envision such an event.

In the days of old... WWII submarines upon returning from combat patrols especially in the PTO would place a broom up on the coning tower to signify a clean sweep  , sinking large number of enemy vessels .

Perhaps in a similar vein an outstanding day maybe be referred to as a Tastykake of a day ,with an  accompanying photo of said Tastykake appropriately placed with the catch of the day.

I tremble with anticipation or it just maybe a sugar rush from a Tastykake
In a pinch, I may have to substitute a vanilla zinger but I fear someone might call me out on the regs and warn me of “zinger jacking” the thread...if no one studies the regs on tastycake take limits I’m all good... :smt006

Judging by the way he talks, I'd probably wig out before he does.  Dude is salty as shit and extremely calm about it.  I'm the opposite, the angry little asian guy.    :smt044 :smt044

at first i thought SOMA was just kidding.....Can SOMA first explain his own logic? Or is just pure saltiness toward people that are working.

I read SOMA's logic to say if the State is in a lockdown, then State contractors should be locked down as well.  If that is correct, then CalTrans can't repair the roads, CalFire can't put out the fires, etc.  seems flawed.

If SOTW, ex-kayaker and rock hopper think SOMA is off base then that should tell you something.
