Here's my ultimate "dream facility"

Visualize this!

The location will be along the coast (I prefer the North Coast) minutes away from the big blue and next to a river and has a small private lake. There will be small wooden lake front cabins (bunk beds and a fire place in each cabin) with in 50 feet of each other surrounding the entire lake. Each cabin will fit 5 to 6 comfortably. Rest rooms (flush toilets) and (hot) showers will be centralized. There will be sites for RV's and tents as well. There will be a bigger "chow hall" (with big screen TV) built lakeside as well. Beach volleyball, tennis and basketball courts for the adults and teens. Play ground for the kids. A heated swimming pool.

Perhaps a small membership fee will keep this place up and running.

I will volunteer to be the resident grounds keeper  :smt006 Along with my soon-to-have dogs.....Starsky and Hutch (A German sheperd and a Doberman)  to keep me company :smt002

Unless one of us hits the lotto or dies and leaves everything to NCKA I don't think a house is feasible....  at least on the water.

But we could certainly buy a sailboat, barge, or houseboat somewhere.  Monthly dues could easily cover mooring fees.  Sure we wouldn't be able to get all of us together at the same time, but it would be cool to use as a timeshare kinda deal, with the occasional small gatherings/outings.

That would be nice...

Maybe something trailerable as to get to different locations

I was picturing something more like an old beater 30-40 foot sailboat moored in Richmond or Sausalito, or a houseboat on the delta.

...How about buying an empty patch of land that has access to a coast line.... where the fish are not bothered by any of the private and comi boaters. All we really need to build is a huge fire ring with a couple of "man grills" nearby....and let's not forget warm showers and flushing toilets.....some trees for shade would also be nice to have :smt002

All you need to bring is a tent and a cooler  :smt003

Now doesn't that sound a little more feasible?

Bill, set up the paypal will ya  :smt002

I'd settle for a patch big enough to park on and sleep overnight.  But hell yeah, a campsite would be killer.

But my homeowners' insurance frowns upon it.
You got me wondering not that I am worried about having a campout at my place with this bunch. What section is it under I'm checking my policy now and the only thing I can see in mine is that they won't cover property damage or liability if the Property is used for Unlawful Assembly or Commercial Purposes.
