I heard a rumor that hobie was going to discontinue the revo 16. Does any one know if this information is valid? I am looking for a 2019 or 2020 hobie revo 16 by the end of Next year. I know shipments are tight due to covid so am trying to get it lined up now.

That would suck - the revo 16 is the fishiest boat in their fleet.

Talked to two hobie dealers and they both said they are both going to be discontinued

Hopefully it will be a redesign/rename and not a discontinue.

16" kayaks for the most part do not sell well and take up too much warehouse or floor space at dealers. Manufacturers do their home work and won't produce a kayak that will end up costing them money to sell. A kayak that does not sell well will cost the manufacturer in the form of down time switching molds and things like that. Wilderness discontinues the Tarpon 160 a couple years ago for the same reason. They don't sell many anymore. Long touring boats still sell so they will still produce those.

They used to sell the AI hull as the Adventure, and there was a kit you could buy to upgrade to an AI. I think that was a much better approach, but I doubt they’ll go back to that as the current AI hull would be even bigger and bulkier than the Revo 16.
