I'm on Fishbrain, and I found some people posting their catches, from the bank, at Oak Hall Bend.  I'm not familiar with targeting salmon from a kayak, on a river.  How's the current when fishing for them?  When I go to Russo's Marina on Bethel Island, geez the current/wind can drift you bad.

I've fished for them twice from the kayak up up up river in sac and no luck. Even tho I can see them jump and doing their thing. Current is not that bad but I know that up in rio vista there is strong current when I was fishing for stripers.

I've never fished in that area, I've fished up my Oroville and in the ocean. I do know that the further upriver you go the less interested in eating they get. up in yuba/Oroville area most people bead fish which is simply forcing the salmon to instinctually react to their line. I would probably focus on using presentations of injured fish (easy prey, instinctual reaction).but once again, i have no experience in Sacramento area.
