Thanks! And thanks to all the rest of you guys for your comments.

I decided to take a leap of faith too and go ahead with a new or nearly new Revo 16. There's one waiting for me at CCK in Alameda. Not happy about the color, but I wanted the 2020 model especially considering that Hobie is not making a Revo 16 2021 model. Dealers don't know why or if it's going to come back for 2022 with a redesign, so I decided to wait no longer. I wanted the 2021 model with the better Mirage Drive 180, kick up fins and reversing option. I know I am going to need both of these options. There are plenty of shallow areas I like to get into when I go spearfishing, sometimes to get across to the other side of a reef, plus all the kelp.

I'll go get it this weekend and if all goes well, I'll get to try it this weekend too. We'll see.

Cheers!
Rick

That should be a great kayak for you. The kickup fins look like they'd be especially useful, and save a lot of bent masts...

Can't you buy the MD180 and sell the drive that comes with the '20 Revo?

Rick,
I don't know if you are interested in at 2014 Revo 16'.  I'm thinking about selling mine.  Has the vantage seats.  I've upgraded to a 180 drive (only used once).  Payaya yellow.  Even has traning wheels for crabing.  I was 215lb and still 5'10".  I do like the speed.  Didn't think weight is a problem.  Just don't take her out much lately.  Thinking of $1,650.   Work has been just too busy.  Only started storing her out door under a boat cover recently.  Had mostly been storied in my my garage.    Herb
