I wondered if they were still there or not/

What time did you start?

Were there any boats catching salmon?

What were you using?

Thats really wild JTF,

That one got close enough for you to touch,  Amazing....

After the Breech,  we were besieghed upon by whale watching boats,

I kept thinking how boring it would be to watch whales from their vantage point

Very neat seeing the whales breech, was hoping to see some salmon breech at the end of my line but then again that's fishing!
Like what Don said 0900 hrs. Trolled an Apex with a 'chovie for no love the first three hours. Went towards the habor and fished the wreck and got one nice size sandab and a few misc. fish.
Was nice meeting you Paul and I hope you did better than we did it was good seeing you do what you enjoy doing. Being on the water is an amazing gift. I know you usually do solo but if ever, let me know.

Danglin & Frank nice chatting with you guys Finally I meet some of those elusive ncka'ers  :cowboy_smoke:

no salmon, I couldn't muster the energy to get down to Pajaro where the boat said they caught fish so I went out to 36 47/121 50 area and dragged up nothing but a lot of grass

one of these days maybe I'll catch my 2nd salmon for the year  :occasion18:

the whales are the best, it's worth going down there just for that alone

forgot to say I talked to an old man in a little boat with some of the strangest looking trolling gear I've ever seen

He had 2 halibut and by the looks of his gear he must've been dragging the bottom with some pretty heavy line It looked like if he snagged it'd turn the boat instead of breaking gear

definitely old school

Are you sure you don't mean 'DISadvantage' point.

When the Whale breached it was like a signal went off and both whale started in on,"The Big Moss Landing Flying Whale Show". I now see how these tour boats can make a living touring people to this and other whales sites in MB.
Oh and another thing that happened out there was a large PB that Danglin and I saw earlier, had a bunch of  large splashes occurring around it. At first Don thought it was that the boat had a large salmon hooked. We started towards the boat when infact we noticed it was a seal
leaping out of the water ,not poreposing, but looking very frantic and edgy when it would surface. It's leaping was haphazard with it's body in all sorts of positions and not the usual graceful movement one sees in a swimming seal.
Needless to say I made distance between myself and the seal which seemed to be using the boat as protection. I saw this exact scenario the night before on the Discovery Channels Shark Week. MUSIC PLEASE.

Mooch I'm starting to feel like the 'Where's Waldo' guy  Speaking of him, my supervisor looks just like him Sometimes even wears the striped t-shirt. I tried to get him to wear the hat but he wouldn't go for it

The whales are definitely the draw down there right now, I should've just stowed my gear and followed them around all afternoon

Coastside reports had fish in close early and shallow Probably worth the trip for anyone who can get up before the crack of noon Better conditions closer to shore too

Danglin or Frank what camera are you using?

My optio wp is slow at taking the pic after I hit the button so 90% of the shots I took are of the water where whale just disappeared
