Dang smoke

So my passions to distract me from politics and COVID are kayak fishing and golf.  Now with the fires and smoke I can barely get out out of the house. All I do now is order kayak fishing gear and watch You Tube videos of my heroes and ass hats catching fish.  Do they have mental institutions for disturbed kayak fishermen and golfers?

By the way, My wife and I hit the Pacifica Pier and beach on Wednesday.  Coming home we were caught in the middle of the Vacaville fire with flames on three sides of us.  I admit I had a sound plan if we had to abandon the truck and run for it.  I would carry all my fishing gear to safety then come back and get my golf clubs. If conditions allowed I would then go back to rescue my wonderful wife.  I consider myself a good husband.

I used to golf but then I started kayak fishing7-8 yrs ago and now my clubs are dusty...

There can be a fishing addiction in there too! It happens
If u ever catch a salmon from ur yak, then you’ll really have it!!!!

Yak fishing withdrawal syndrome?

So as I was fishing all by myself at SWS on Friday and it looked like the apocalypse with ash raining down, I began to think that maybe I had a problem. Then I started catching fish one after another and I thought no, I'm good

And I thought I was hardcore for going to Santa Cruz today. I was expecting the worst, but by about 10:15 there was a nice south-southwest breeze and the air was breathable. Unfortunately, fishing sucked, so I think I might have a problem...
