After months of debating on which kayak to get, and then waiting about a month for the delivery... It's finally here!!  My Hobie outback.  I cannot wait to take it out on some water.  Planning to start in some lakes and small water first, and get used to the kayak as well as practicing to get back in once I've fallen off.  The closest body of water to me is Calero reservoir, so I will plan on hitting that up first and doing some bass fishing.  Anyone here ever go there?  I think I have just about everything I need but if you can add to my list on anything missing I would appreciate it! Looking at the hook 4 triple shot maybe for fish finder?  Recommendations on fish finders would be great too

Nice Kayak.  You may have it, but didn't see it in the pictures.  Scupper cart wheels or other method to transport over terrain?  I also stuffed some pool noodles inside for additional flotation.  I'm using a Lowrance Elite 7 Ti2 with sidescan since I fish alot in the delta and inland lakes for bass.

Have fun outfitting it.

Thanks everyone! I definitely have all my fishing gear already and for cart Im going with a diy cart out of PVC and harbor freight 10 inch wheels for now.  Yeah I figured I would go big since everyone I talked to told me that I would end up buying a Hobie at the end of the day.

Nah don't waste your money and go straight to the big wheelez cart. It's really worth it and you'll be glad you have it.

While perhaps a luxury item, I highly recommend the Sea deck interior only package.  I installed mine on a brand new outback (the same one!) before exposing the boat to any dirt or oil.  I washed it very well after unwrapping it and installed it immediately.  The sound dampening is very nice and I love the feeling on my feet.  I have covered it in salmon blood and scales, halibut slime, my own vomit, and it washes off very well.  Also, it looks pretty cool.   :smt006

Another +1.  Your decision to go straight to the Yak that you just got will likely save you a lot of money in the long term.

BTW, Calero is easy peasy launch, you may want to practice self rescue there.  Go left after the launch, no wake area.  You can go toward the "thumb", you'll catch something for sure.  Green pumpkin everything is the best.

Nice man! What a beauty! I'm on the same boat, did a ton of research and realized it's better to spend the money on the best yak up front rather than upgrading over time.

I'm waiting on a Revo 13, should be coming in a few weeks. Thanks for this post, it's very helpful to see everyone's suggestions. Love the sea deck lining!
