Just discover a great use of bungee cord on the back of Hobie Compass and possibly later version of Outback for self kayak cart loading without tipping or removing gear.

Clever. My older plug in cart doesn’t have those plastic caps. Anyone know where I can get them?

Nice! Have they reinforced the scupper holes so they don't end up cracking from heavy usage and loads?

On my 15 revo I used the hobie plug in cart constantly both in paved areas and off road fully loaded for 4 years without issue (2x or more a week). On my 19 outback it’s the same story. So in my limited experience they seem to be reinforced.

Most of the hobie dealerships carry them also.  Best way to put your cart on in the water.

Amazing trick! Well done. I have the 2-30 wheels, but the existing plastic post tops don't appear to be screwed in. The product you linked to on Amazon screws in. Will they work on my 2-30 wheels?

They don’t screw in, they are a wedge/interference fit. They just hammer in. Use pliers to remove the old plastic ones and then use a rubber mallet or similar to tap the new ones in.

Very cool! On my Honda Civic I use the trunk suction-cup foam roller to get the kayak off the roof, so when the kayak leans against the car, it’s trivial to inset the cart into the scupper holes. However, when I land, I always have to take all the gear off the kayak, so that I can tip it on its side, so that I can put the cart it. Then I have to put back the gear on the kayak and haul to the car.
This trick will save me that. No more tipping the kayak. No more sand on the side. Thanks!
