Here's a short compilation of owl footage from this year's family in Golden Gate Park.
Enjoy!

May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I love owls...

We’ve got a great horned owl that likes to sit in one of the redwoods very near my house and call all through the evening. We VERY rarely see it, but it’s always nice to know it’s there...

Cool, thanks for posting. We have an Owl roosting in a Eucalyptus grove near our home. Rarely see it , but on occasion can hear it in the evenings. Good rodent control .

Ever see any birds of prey ? I read there were some in SF ,picking off the pigeon population.
We see lots of red-tailed, red-shouldered, and Coopers (plus the occasional sharp-shinned) hawks here in East Oakland, and also the occasional kestrel, Merlin, or peregrine falcon. Also hear barn owls and great horned owls frequently. The Cooper’s like to harass (and eat) the neighborhood pigeons.

Just down 580 in Emeryville there are several peregrine falcons that I can watch from my 7th floor office window.

Here’s one I caught on video with my iPhone a little while back:

I assume you’re talking about peregrine falcons picking off the pigeons in SF? It’s true - there are definitely falcons nesting on roofs around the whole greater Bay Area.
