The desire for a high visibility color is the sole reason I spent the past two weeks confirming with various reps from Johnson Outdoors that the redesigned Ocean Kayak Malibu Pedal was now the same exact kayak as the new Old Town Sportsman Salty PDL 120.

I think the Sportsman colors are really sharp and nice looking, but I wanted function over form. A lot of colors may perform similar when someone is actively looking for you, but certain colors are definitely more noticeable and easier to pick up with the eye.

I went with the Malibu Pedal in "Sunrise", which is a bright yellow and orange.

That's a good point. You want a color that boaters will not be able to not see.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?
