I was out there on Tuesday. Launched at miller. Definitely open. Bring cash. $5. Kiosk might be working now, but wasn't for me. Spent the the morning trying to find bait with no luck. Switched to tossing a double bucktail. Got lucky with a fat lil 27" that was sitting on the ledge by the yellow bouy. Was during the incoming. Gorgeous day out there but hard fishing. Talking to others there was a lot of skunks. A lot of good advice from the guys here on this thread. Pay attention to the water temp. Know that the high tide can bring in colder water. Big tidal swings aren't great in Tbay. Plus the current will rip through the channels. I get skunked a lot there but still one of my favorite places. On a side note, Ken at Bodega Tackle had live shiners that morning. Wish I had picked some up

Loving this thread! Tons of good information.
I typically fish it about a dozen times a year. Like many others have said, its worth the more than occasional skunk to fish in such a beautiful and dynamic place.

I’ve hooked into a lot of different stuff in TB, stripers, halibut, thresher shark and rockfish. It’s always exciting to drop a bait into the depths there since TB presents an opportunity to hook into so many of my “bucket list” species.

Someday I’ll land a WSB or a Thresher, and chances are pretty good it will be here when it happens.

Clamming and crabbing (out of Lawsons Landing mostly for me) can also be really productive and despite having to be face down in that stinky ass sand to get the big clams, I somehow find it really fun!

Because it’s small, it feels “safer” for lack of a better word. Still good to remember it can be a very dangerous place due to the winds, sharks, fog, and water conditions. I’ve ventured out alone there in thick fog a few times. Not a great idea in hindsight!

Looks like it might still be a little windy Monday but I might have to go give it another try
