Got to the Hollow at 7:30AM. Cpyak and James had already launched. I got Chris on the radio and said he and James were straight out from the mouth. Could not see 'em - they were right on the fog line. I paddled out - nervously  :smt010 As I cleared the swells (conditions were better on Sat), I made it out to 50 FOW and still no sign of the guys.....now I'm really nervous. Called Chris again....no answer. Decided to start fishing to keep my mind off OTHER THINGS  :smt011 Hooked up a nice 22 inch cabby (but kept my legs on board this time) and got it on the deck. Got a call from Chris, he was fishing on the North side with James. We all met halfway.

We stuck close together for the rest of the morning....coz that's how we roll  :smt002 James got sick earlier and wasn't feeling any better so he took off. Chris and I stayed for a couple more hours. Chris got a variety of RF but snagged and lost a few of his irons. We battled the off shore winds as it got worse. We called it a day by 11 AM.

As we were packing up. The Ranger drove by and recognized me from yesterdays trip. He was surprised that I "came back". I simply told him that I was back to avenge my buddy's encounter with the land lord....with my personalized baton   :smt002 :

The courage should be highly regarded. In fact, 3 of you went out at BH, all of you deserve bravery model.  :smt006

I would have never gone by myself....and I know for a fact that if I got in trouble, I can truly count on Chris to cover my back  :smt002 Hockey players make the best body guards  :smt003

Better be glad the landlord doesn't have hands or arms because I think I know where he would put that stick. :smt005

i took a good picture of james chumming but it is lost in my computer somewhere.  i told him it was against federal law to chum for great whites, but he wasn't listening.  i caught a bunch of black rockfish and a canary.  the wind was fierce as the fog broke up so we paddled back to the hollow.  i would have liked to fish longer, maybe next time.

Mooch, that is a little on the crazy side to go out again. I would have let the events sink in a bit before I went out there.

But its good to know that even chance of a chomping death cannot stand between you and your fish!

chris, well we know he's crazy. and all newbs are crazy. so there you go,  :smt002

True....... I had this conversation with Chuck. I'm not trying to be "Brave". I promised Chris I'd go fish with him and I did despite the fact.

WTG guys.  Chris I heard you in the background yesterday making chicken and I deserved them.  I will say this, what are the odds of it happening two days in a row.  I'm sure someone can figure them out. I have a couple of theories.  Hard to figure in 50 year old data when there are probably 90% more Yaks on the water than even 5 years ago.

By the way don't they say that you are more likely to get struck by lightning than bit by a shark?  Well ask the diver in Florida who as he reached the surface of the water was killed by a lightning strike on his air tank.  :smt009 Well I guess you can't ask him.

If the Landlord did have hands and arms maybe he wouldn't have to chew to check things out. Unless it's Mooch of course!
