Heres another one! My mission was to catch Halibut on a swimbait and I succeeded with two keepers. Both were caught on an AA swimbait with a 3/4 oz jig head.

Work is for people who don't know how to fish

Very nice!  I just don’t have the patience/confidence with the swaimbait!  One day, maybe I won’t bring any bait and just drift with the swimbait to force myself to learn. I always get inpatient and switch back to popsicle dragging.  Hard for me to feel the bottom and know where my bait is, especially with current, etc.

I was so happy to be on the water that I just decided to drift my bait to enjoy the weather and time on the water, watching something huge jump out of the water over and over, trying to figure out what it was. Dirfting lazily hooked up to a really heavy fish on my barbless FBR ( forgot it was barbless till I was out on the water ) lost it but did entice me to drift for halibut more and not just troll.

Yeah this was my first time really giving it a go. I also usually switch up to trolling around after a few casts but decided to stick with it this day. I got hit a few other times which keeps it interesting at least. I think I’ll toss a swimbait around once I get to a spot or get tired of pedaling around. I’m definitely appreciating being out there more these days [emoji2369]
