I launched out of Fort Bragg this morning at 0615 hours. The ocean was calm and the fog was not there. I paddled out to the 300 foot mark, straight out from Noyo Harbor. I was not marking and salmon or bait. There were very few (if any) salmon caught as reported on channel 10 (the local chat channel for boats in Fort Bragg).

The word was that the salmon were in 350 feet of water and were down real deep. They were talking about having their down riggers out all the way.

At about 1100 I decided to switch to rockies. I ended up with 3 big China's but I didn't keep any. I was off the water at 1215 and hit the road back to Ukiah with my tail between my legs.

I'll get'em next time.

CHEERS!

Hey Dan, you don't get them if you don't hit the water. At least you went out, whereas I've only been contemplating it.
Thanks for the report.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Dan~
At least your drive home isn't 4 hours!!!!!!!
You did get fish as well, just not a salmon so no need to feel too bad.
While you were fishing I was at work...Thanks...now I feel bad.

Way to give it a go, Dan.  Keep at it - you'll get one.

How far out is 300' in FB?  That's sounding like a bluekayak-style long distance trip.   :smt001

Ouch! I got real lazy today and just slept in and then watched fishing shows on TV.

Elk is just around the corner!
