Tonight it was Cantonese comfort food.  We called it Water-Eggs in Cantonese. 

It’s a savory steamed egg custard.  Very light and delicate.

Is that difficult to make? Like how delicate souffle is? Looks yummy! What other spices/flavors are in there?

Carribean fish fritters (Verm RF) for dinner tonight.  :smt001

I NEED THAT RECIPE!!!

Here you go guys.  We used fresh Verm RF fillets.



Cool! Here it is written out:

The BEST Jamaican Saltfish Fritters MADE EASY!

250ml water
1 pack boneless Saltfish
Spring onions
1 small Tomato chopped
1 medium Onion
1 cup sweet peppers
1/4 of Scotch bonnet pepper
1/2 Tsp Baking powder
2 cups water
4 cups plain flour
1 Tsp Black pepper
1 Tsp Paprika
4oz Olive or vegetable oil

optional: Garlic, thyme and hot pepper sauce or anything similar

PROCESS

1. Saltfish in water let it boil for 10 mins (or soak saltfish in cold water overnight)
2. Then drain off water and repeat 1 or 2 times (removes salt)
3. Add Spring onions, chopped tomato, onion, sweet peppers, Scotch bonnet pepper, 1/2 Tsp Baking powder  into mixing bowl
4. Pour 2 cups of water into bowl
5. Pour 4 cups plain flour then mix (add water or flour when necessary untill mix has slightly sloppy consistency
6. Add 1 Tsp Black pepper
7. Add 1 Tsp Paprika
8. Add 4oz Olive or vegetable oil in frying pan - on high heat
9  Add mix to high heat frying pan, then turn down to medium heat. Fry until golden brown on each side.

Serves 6-8 people

I’m not sure but I would willing to bet my paycheck that standing in line at Costco with that headless salmon won’t give you that sense of accomplishment and rush that you get by catching chrome  on  your Kayak.... :smt003

OK, how much is your paycheck? :smt044  I know the feeling of landing kayak chrome.  But I'm older, tired-er, less patient, and more time constrained.  That's why i dont chase chrome nor halis.  To me, RCG is still worth it because its tough to find fresh rockies in the stores, and they're ez to catch and easier to eat.

This thread makes me miss Cabeza :smt010.  He'd have some acerbic quip right about now about what a lazy POS ive become, follwed by :jerk: emoji
