Shit just got real here in Oregon, Warrenton Oregon (Coastal Town) posted tourist have 24 hours to clear out or your getting arrested!! No joke people! If you don’t have to go out DON’T how fucking hard is to realize this is CONTAGIOUS!!! I post up all the funny memes but I don’t leave unless I have too...... try it..... if you can’t sit in the same house with your family for an extended period of time..... your lying about family.... family is more important than ANYTHING ! Let’s get serious about what’s important in our life!!!! Please!!!!!

The Oregon coast is overwhelmed by tourists this weekend thanks to irresponsible media suggestions that folks should run about in the rural parts of the state - where we have totally inadequate health care facilities at the best of times - during their time off work.

We heard the same about Shelter Cove.
Yesterday was a crowded day with tourists even lighting off fireworks like it was the fourth of July. We have no medical facilities in the Cove and many older citizens. I'm all for getting fresh air, but please do so responsibly.

So, just checking - are you still thinking the whole thing is insanely over blown?  Or did I read that wrong?

Now you people who have to work but can't and are stuck at home know how us retired folks feel having to find things to do to keep the wife happy.  Hard waiting for fishing season to open!

Kayak fishing is social isolation and consider
going to the store. But acting like this time off of work is like a 3 month long spring brake is stupid! If people keep making stupid choices we will be in isolation like the people in China.... and like this guy.

110% agree. I hope the predictive models are wrong, but many of the large hospitals in the affected areas are preparing for a possible surge in patients that may overwhelm the capacity for adequate care. They are developing protocols to determine 'who will get a ventilator' if there are not enough.

Perhaps those going to crowded areas enjoy their freedom over the safety of others...but it would be nice if people observed the recommended shelter-in-place orders.

For those that are critically ill with COVID-19, they can develop Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), essentially respiratory failure.

Be safe everyone. Wash your hands.

Do I think it is “overblown” yes I do, from some sources that should not be reporting as well as fat cat government officials that care about there agendas and lining there friends pockets. Now do I think it’s real? Yes I do, do I know if that’s what we’re currently getting over in our house? No. But the fact that there claiming medical privacy by not stating age, pre existing conditions for those unfortunate souls that lost there battle with this, is crap.... I don’t care where they are or there names just give me those two facts, because I read a story on a news station (can’t remember which) was on the cruise ship tested positive had light symptoms and a week later was fine, true? No fucking clue. This country has gotten too far into pansy mode the last 10 years to function properly in my opinion. If I died from this shot tell EVERYONE about ALL my medical conditions so they can judge for themselves. But yes it’s overblown by media, and politics. 

Btw... I’m forcefully retired and the only places we have been are our house, my sons house, the shop we rent, and me at Fred Meyer twice to attempt to buy our NORMAL groceries, had to settle for what I could get, in the last two weeks.

The regular everday run of the mill flu virus kills tens of thousands of people every year (the same ones...elderly, the weak, those with pre-existing health issues, etc) and no one bats an eye.  Now the media sells you on the hysteria and you panic buy every roll of toilet paper for miles.  Yes people are going to die from complications related to this virus but the hysteria is comical.  What is not funny is the economic catastrophe that is occurring. A few thousand dollars from the government will help SOME but it will come with a price in the future that we will all pay.   In a few months you will see a spike in suicides as people lose their small businesses and life’s work. Violent crime will surge as those with little have even less.  Oh, this is going to get much worse before it gets better, but it’s going to be because of us, not the virus.

Agree.  We should fear this more than the virus.
