I always hear the constant cliche "when this is all over", hate to say it, I really do not feel optimistic towards the future. I hope and pray that I'm wrong.

I dunno about that other stuff you said, but this part is definitely true. The lack of a clear endgame plan a full 2 months into SIP dampens my normal optimism considerably.

I will not be punished for the sins of others.

Nor should you.  And nor should Alex...

As our government attempts to appeal to the lowest common denominator, someone needs to remind them "you can't fix stupid".

if you cant fix stupid (true) how do you keep the stupid from doing to much harm?

looks like we are slowly opening back up (Level 2) it will be good to see how things get to a new normal

Darwin usually eliminates the truly stupid. (Yet I am still here)😃

As far as when this all end is still a SWAG even for the scientists which is unsettling for me.  If this virus is like the flu then I see it becoming an annual flu shot.  Currently the majority of what science is reporting is this is a moving target so a one time vaccination is not going to be the answer.
Darwin’s dead man.

Blurb about fishing charter  “what phase?”  confusion...

If it’s government decisions Eddie, it is “phase, who makes us the most income in taxes” 2.1 (or what industry contributes the most into my “election fund” )

Disclaimer: word “election fund” used very loosely as the term bribe is frowned upon!  :smt044

Funny...I pay an arm an a leg in my little economy but in the big scheme I'm pretty small beans for their ultimate plan...I hate to believe it...one chair shop minding my own business...micro tax collection from this point of view...

I recently came across this article and felt compelled to share. It’s about the most sensible and well written (objective) piece on the relative risk of exposure, which is important to understand as SIP guidelines are loosened in the coming weeks. The author is an associate professor of biology/immunology at U Mass. He has drawn from a variety of complex sources to articulate very clearly what risks we may encounter. Bottom line, stay out of the public bathrooms but don’t worry too much about sharing fresh anchovies with your fellow kayaker OTW. Just make it snappy.

Great article, especially answers the time in contact that I've heard about but never understood.

Interesting article, though my understanding is the question around how much virus is expelled from normal respiration is still up in the air, sorry not a very funny pun. Coughing and sneezing are obvious, but normal respiration not so much, different sources say different things about that. Prior to this corona viruses were always listed as contact/droplet, we do airborne now to be on the safe side

This is one of the key issues in the ICU environment for a number of reasons, tight spaces, intubated/ventilated patients, a ventilator which is causing a certain amount of air turbulence, endotracheal tube leaks, no 6’ rule is even possible. There are some extra precautions in place now, but there’s no such thing as ideal in that world Still an unanswered question in my mind but all based on anecdote, not science. Still, the record is very good so far

I think also the contact thing is underrated, Ive always treated it seriously even pre-covid-19, just a side effect of working in ICUs and oncology units with kids with zero functional immune system who you can kill with a simple slip in your habits. The work habits follow out into the outside world, shared contact points especially. Always a barrier like a paper towel on gas pumps, touching fixtures and door handles etc in any public bathroom or keypad shared with every nose picker on the planet. Used to think of myself as overcautious

Abbreviated O'Neill made an appearance a few years back, it seem's we're going to extremes.

Rambling around the thing everybody without exception needs to know when things are opened up

Of all the things required of you in any environment whether it’s where you work or where I work or any of the spaces anybody lives and works, a simple set of habits around hygiene is the easiest thing to learn and practice

It’ll be one of the determining factors in what the second wave will be like

Or you could address me directly.  Do you believe that anything that strays from the regurgitated narrative is to outlandish to even consider?

On a lighter note, my neighbor’s version of working at home seems to be sitting in the backyard smoking hooch drinking cervezas and learning to play mariachi accordion

At least it’s not tuba
