Looking for a Windows 7 computer to use as a backup machine. I have old software that will not run properly on Windows 10 computers. It is only a matter of time before my Windows 7 computer bites the dust.

Win 10 has a compatibility mode that replicates the environment of win 7. i would try booting into that before a whole new computer

You have AC power cord for it? The only thing i would run on it is the old software.

250 gig hd 2 gb ram (maxed out) nice and light. Got all the latest updates before support shut down. Still fast-ish on the web. Could be fast again with a solid state drive. Just can't add more ram. I can clean it out. Prep it for you if you want it. NCKA express or next event. Yes I have the power cord, also batteries are available on the web. All original manuals and packing in the original all box

Aspire ones are pretty slow due to lack of ram.  I have one also.  But I also have an unlocked windows 7 disc that I can install on pretty much any pc. So you have that option also.

If my old software works with the Aspire, that is fine with me. I have no intention of running any other programs on it and will also keep it offline, free of any worries about being hacked.
