ARGH....cabin fever and waiting for sturgeon bite is getting the best of me...anyone thinking of going out and hauling traps? Magicseaweed, Windy, Windfinder, NOAA all say it should be doable...Need to feel that I can bring home the bacon once in a while and redeem myself in the wife's eyes....

Any reports of decent crabbing lately since the commercial guys got their pots out in HMB?

New member today so I couldn't respond.  Anyways, was out at HMB on Sat (15th) around the jetty and there were plenty of crabs.  Got my limits and they were all over 6" in about 3 hours all within 100 yards of the jetty.  Hopefully you got out.

Got 7, one made a jail break and was my only >6.5" :(
saw a Shore Angler raking in the legal dungees, in the time it took me to launch and retrieve my pots, he had already caught 7.

Was nice seeing the fleet out, faces I knew, faces new.  Nice meeting you Anthony, Nice seeing you Nick.

Am embarrassed to report, but I decided to punish myself some more by going sturgeon fishing.... :BangHead:

There's something wrong with me....

Oh there's definitely something wrong with you, you're a Kayak Angler!

go Crabbing, paddle out set traps, wait. pull heavy (hopefully) traps out of ocean, go home with crab or no crab, no Drama either way.

Go Sturgeon fishing, paddle out, set bait, wait.  no fish? happens, get fish? crazy ass fight ensues.

Idk, sounds like the possibilities of sturgeon fishing are way more exciting!
