Nice haul you guys.   Congrats on the Lingzilla Mark... and on your homebrew jig nonethless.  Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

Nice fish Mark!

I wanted to say "thanks" for the great advice at the Pro Shop on Friday... I paddled out for the first time (in the ocean) on Saturday and caught my first ever (under)ling... ~18"... on your 4 oz. Diamond Jig recommendation.  I then promptly snagged the jig on the very next drop!  Anyway, I'm pretty stoked that it was a successful trip... next time I'll work up to your 40"er.  :smt003

Great fish!!
There for a second I thought maybe you used your head for bait. It definitely would have fit in that toads mouth. :smt003
And it definitely would have won the AOTD tourney. But I am sure you didn't need an extra $400.

I really wanted to do the AOTD, but had family stuff. I had to be off the water at noon. That was no problem because the "sheep" started to show before that and the drift was getting too fast.

Welcome to the 40" club!

Missed you guys at AOTD.  Hopefully Jim survived the onslaught of hosting a tourney at his house and will be kind enough to do it again next year.

THAT IS THE ZILLA of ALL LINGS!!  I didn't know they got that big in these parts and to get it on that SWEET LOOKIN "shim bait" must have been a BLAST!....not to mention "a self-chest-pound" for making the jig itself, then making the jig WORK!...and work IT DID!!

Thanks for another shot of inspiration for myself to MAN-UP and get out there.

DAM THAT THING IS BIG!!

Adam you crack me up! :smt005 I like that you are being true to the "Raider Nation" and flying your colors. You talk the talk now walk the walk.:smt002 I was starting to wonder why guys fishing around me were catching big lings and I couldn't. In fact Sean caught his right after I pulled a just legal!
When I cleaned the ling "He" only had one small rocky inside, his mouth and gullet would have held any of my other fish easily. :fat

You should market that jig.  Best I seen in a long time.

Nice shimbait! Did you mold that yourself or is it a repaint?

Bill I made a couple molds, one plaster type and one silicone. Now I'm working on making entirely new models in different sizes. And I ordered some shrink free silicone mold compound. Controlling the weight is a pain.

It's all your fault Bill! I started surfing TU. Here's the Anchovy.

It is addicting stuff man? Is that lead or some other metal? Devcon 2-ton for the epoxy coat?
