while cleaning the ling i caught from LM I noticed a few elastic looking worms in the meat.  The were about 1-2 inches long and we very thin.  I pulled them out and continues.  I don't remember seeing any in previous years.  Is this normal.

happened to me too. Caught a mess of rockies out of Trinidad a few weeks ago. Started cleaning them and bamm, worm city. I believe it's related to water tempurature and proximity to defecating seals. Bon apetit

Worms are pretty common in rock fish. Not a good idea to eat raw. Remove what worms you can see and cook well. See attached. ...............
