The day started late with one of my Newbies pulling out. Went to the Sportmen in Castro Valley to find them closed on Monday so no minnows. Finally got to the water around 0800ish and put my cousin Ronnie out first on the Hobie Sport. For lack of a better term he took to it like a duck in the water :) After peddling around pulling lures for a perch we bottom fished soaking power bait for about an hour. Wind picked up and I drifted back to the launch throwing artificial. Had two nice hits but no hook ups. Pulled the perch for stripers who got excited a few times but no take downs.
Weather was warm and sunny. Ronnie got fried but wants another go at it which I told him we would do the ARW next.
Meet Pat (mangoyak?) and introduced myself. Nice meeting you Pat.
Another great day Kayak fishing with company.

at least you got sumpin' to show for the effort!    Del Valle is tough to fish(for me) I spend too much time in one area, cuz it looks like something "SHOULD" be in that spot, only to find another "SPOT" right around the corner...and so on...and so on :smt013

puttin your cousin in the yak and gettin out is the only thing in YOUR CONTROL...
the rest is Mother(f#$%#$)Nature.   :smt005
