Has anyone had any luck with a good fish ID app? I'm currently trying out Fish Rules and Fish Legal which just give you pics and let you know the regs of that particular fish in your zone using GPS. Let me know if you've seen better ones. Thanks!

I haven't tried it on fish yet, but iNaturalist is a great app to get just about any species ID'd.   First you take a photo and upload it with the app then two things happen..
First, the image analysis ai takes a crack at it, and usually comes up with some pretty good first guesses.
Second, if you submit it for identification a bunch of iNaturalist members, who have some expertise, will also try and ID the photo.  But this step last step takes a few days.

That said, I would only do that with weird fish you might accidentally catch.  For the fish you're actually targeting, it's best to just learn the fish before you head out.

Not an app, but I love the folded rockfish guide from this site:
https://www.rockfishidentification.com
For me, it is way easier to look at than my phone.

I also write down the relevant regs for the area I'm fishing on the back of my hawg trough for easy access. I update them at the beginning of the season.
