Kincaide Fire Updates Pg.1

Damn!  Stay safe people!  The winds are howling gusty in Santa Cruz this morning.  Can't imagine what it's doing to that fire or the one down here near Pescadaro!  We have power here.  For now.

Anyone evacuated can park their rig at my place in Lodi. Plenty of space. Water and power. Bbq and beer too!

I can accommodate large animals too if needed.

Swung by my house to check on it. The fire is real close, but I’m hopeful that it doesn’t make it to me.

It’s crazy windy right now, Never seen like it. be safe everyone.

Absolute dead calm this morning, came back last night and sorta slept.  Praying the upcoming winds aren't as bad.  Firefighters are doing an amazing job, saved big part of Windsor yesterday.  Hopefully attached a picture of what used to be my carport, guess it wanted to be a garage cause that's where it ended up 😟

It got within 1/4 mile of my house late yesterday. A fire rig on every corner and one in front of my house (there’s a hydrant there). A few houses were lost but mine is good. It is turning away from the most populated areas and things are looking pretty good for the areas not burning in Sonoma county as in its somewhat under control.

Glad to hear you and your home survived.  I was 1/4 mile away from burning in the Tubbs fire, don't wanna go there again but this is feeling like dejavu all over again (to quote Yogi Berra).

I know there are a number of you in the area affected by this fire, and I'm praying that they won't have to endure the hell we went through last year.  I know some of the evacuation notices may seem a bit overkill, but I'd like to think that they are lessons learned from our Camp Fire.  Keep in mind, Spiffy said the Tubbs Fire moved 12miles in 4 hours, ours moved at a rate of a football field every minute.  Having seen the Camp Fire from both sides of the line, I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK IN TRAFFIC INSIDE THAT FIRE LINE.  Please, error on the side of caution, and evacuate earlier than later.  If you have other family members, stick together and leave in the most reliable car / truck (fueled up) you have. 

Houses and things are replaceable, but family and pets are not!
