3 confirmed shark sitings in the county in the last couple weeks with the last one being friday evening in Cambria in the vicinity of Moonstone Beach.  Left me a little leary but just like a ranger was quoted as saying; they're always out there it's just that this one was seen.  Figured i'd forget going far offshore.

Launched @ 8 a.m. no wind, occasional head-high NW sets coming thru.  Sea conditions very bumpy & strong outgoing tide.  Fished in the kelp for 1 hour had 4 blues, 1 gopher & that's it.  No big boys - you could see it was murky out there.

I'm hanging it up till the wind disappears & the NW windswell dies down.

Good Luck All.

I once rented a house at the south end of moonstone beach. and surfed that rivermouth just north of there.

Saw that two attacks happened at 'moonstone' beach in the 70's, 80's, but just looked it up and it
was moonstone beach in HUMBOLDT COUNTY...    :smt006.

But I guess those sharks are probably working their way up here....

should be here just about the time fishing gets good at bean hollow,  :smt012.

j.

no attacks here in Cambria area.  there was a woman killed a couple years ago in Avila & it was a decade, i think,  before that there was another.

on another note, the wind just keeps blowing & blowing & blowing.  i thought it was going to calm down but  it ended up getting really windy again today.

i hung my boat up on the rack...maybe that will make it stop blowing.

forecast if for it to stop on tuesday but I'm sure it'll just keep blowing and we'll never catch a decent
fish for the rest of our lives (couldn't take a chance on jinxing you with the news,  :smt002).
