Hi fellow kayak anglers! I'm excited to join this forum. I found this community just at the season's end. Better late than never.

I just started the kayak angling journey this summer. I caught my first flatty on Tomales Bay this summer. It was awesome, needless to say. I am using a sit in kayak right now, but I will trade up to a sit on top Hobie drive based yak this winter.

I haven't had the opportunity to target rockfish or lingcod from a kayak. Next on the list.  Hoping to fill up the freezer in the spring and summer next year.

Speaking of next season, I'll be going out most weekends and will be looking for fellow yakers to join. I live in Marin and am happy to hit the water early in the morning on most Fridays and Saturdays.

Looking forward to meeting every one. Tight lines and enjoy the rest of the season.

Feel free to contact me if you're headed out in Marin or SF if you're headed out and you need a partner.

Welcome bud!

I haven't made it out to Marin to fish at all this year, sounds awesome from all the reports I've read. and Listen to Eric, go get some RF!

after 10 posts you'll be able to access the member boards and you can see when other people are going out/you can post when you are and see if anyone else is.

I need to upgrade to a sit on top before I hit the rockfish or lings. I'm assuming I'll have to go into open ocean and my sit inside has barely kept me safe when I've gone out on Tomales and SF Bay. I've been eyeing the Hobie Mirage. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Thanks! And thanks for helping me create my account. That was one of those "it was making a sound until I took it to the mechanic!" moments.

WTTM! I’m up in Novato, hope to see you OTW.

Btw, one of my really good fishing partners goes by the name plankton here and he is in a sit-In ocean kayak. He fishes all the time for all the same species that we all target and he keeps up w my Revo 13 no problem. One of the only paddlers that I’ve come across that can do this. Definitely a different skill set but something to consider before dropping 2K+ on a new boat (not that I would dissuade anyone from the amazing Hobie).
