I was fishing at shadow cliff today in my kayak. A young girl, 16ish,fell off her paddle board and she couldn’t get back on.  I went over and put her board between her and my kayak and pulled her back on her board. She was looked pretty tired from her ordeal.  I asked her if she wanted me to tow her back to the launch but she said she was ok. I kinda let her go but trailed close by until she got back to the launch. She didn’t have a life jacket on and the board seem really big for her. I asked her if she knew how to swim and she said yes but she didn’t seem very convincing. Glad things was fine and happy that rescue videos really worked.

Good job! Thanks for being there and staying close by.

Last week my wife was out on the ONeil sailboat hosting a wine tasting. The other big sailboat from SC, Chardonnay radio'd over for assistance.  They came across a lady on a softie foam paddleboard past the mile buoy.  Wearing a bikini. No PFD with her.  It was a day that included gale force warnings I didn't even want her to go out on the 70 foot catamaran.  The lady was cluelesss did not realize how close a call she was involved in. Offshore winds up to 25 mph, and sun was going down.  Harbor patrol came out and picked her up from Oneill's Cat.  "Oh no, I'm fine....."
