After Mel Cottons, now Fisherman Warehouse :-( I was there last week with my wife to get squids, went back today to get barbless hooks to find out they are definitely closed

I personally prefer to shop at local shops rather than larger chain stores (Bass Pro).

From the folks in the South Bay, where do you go?

Fishery supplies left on Story Road now.

Here’s a Dick’s coupon.

Thanks. About 8 miles from my house, not too bad

Too bad, but I never could understand why they moved from Cupertino to just a couple blocks away from Bass Pro.

I'm not really a fan of Fishery Supply. It's in a terrible location wrt getting in and out, not to mention parking-wise. And it deserves about -10 stars for customer service.

Is Coyote Bait and Tackle still around? That is (was?) pretty nice, IMHO.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

I mix it up between the two and bass pro depending on their price and what they tend to carry. They all have stellar customer service if you ask me ;)
I'm only there for the fish!

It all depends. They are a small mom's and pops store and she ( the owner) doesn't speak much English. Her sons do. Since I speak Vietnamese and they can relate they have always treated me well there.

She loves to hear my fish stories and has always been friendly to me. I've been going there for over 10+ years.
We call her our "fish mom" cause she always treads us like her fish kids. Lol.

Coyote Bait and Tackle is still open and doing well.  Denise runs a great business.  I like Fishery Supply, but I agree about the getting in and out being a pain.  Never had any issues with customer service.

I spoke to one of the salesperson at FW before they closed. He said that the landlord raised the rent too high and they just couldn’t afford to be there anymore. Too bad I liked the people there. Nice and helped out a a lot.

I’m bummed they moved.  Glad I called before driving down there a few days ago. They had a decent selection of swim bait and the staff was always helpful.
We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Bought my first serious bass combo there about 25 years ago. Always been a great shop and just getting better, best staff in the game.

Fishery........last time I went there to buy my license the dude was on the computer playing poker, took him a half hour before finally printing up my license.  Still go there for bait and terminal tackle occasionally but its getting tougher to patronize the place.

..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

+1  I've been shopping there for a long time and she always nice to me (her name is Mai by the way).  Maybe you should learn to speak VNmese  :smt003
