Haven't been to the delta this year and am thinking of late this week.  Thursday or Friday most likely but maybe the weekend if winds are better.  I've only been on the east delta twice with a slow day and a skunk.  Drive is 2+ hours for me so hoping for better this time.  Hope there is someone with better experience that would let an amateur tag along.

Wind, tide, boat traffic, and finding a good launch spot will be big hurtles.

I haven’t gone to the delta in a while but in the past I usually hit up the west side because I’m in the Bay Area. Launching is fairly simple with a 4’ wide x 10’ piece of carpet if you’re launching from the side of the road down over the rocks.  The launch at Tracy oasis is a good spot that doesn’t have too much boat traffic and is on the east side. Most dead end sloughs will be a good bet. Bad experiences with Boats and jet skis are why I don’t like going there as much as before.  If you want some west delta spots, shoot me a pm.

Launch from the ramp at Sherman. Run swimbaits out in the lake between the weeds. Follow the birds.

Thur, Fri look like windy days so I'll pass on those.  Sat morning I'm stuck with plans.  That leaves Sat afternoon or Sunday morning.  Sunday morning looks the most interesting for me.  Never been to the delta at low tide.  Good weather should continue into next week so that's a possibility.

Tracy Oasis Marina has been on my list of places to try.  Two others are Big Break Marina and Windmill Cove.

My biggest worry is being east of launch with both wind and tide coming in.

Good luck out there. Weekends and nice conditions means to me, get on the water early and get off early to avoid the power boats.

I have been looking at online satellite images and they show some kind of ramp being put in east of Tracy Oasis, just past the bridge. This looks like it will be blocking thru boat traffic.
