The Lectric caught my interest because of its foldability/space saver while in transit. How much would I use it? Who knows! How much do I use anything that I buy?  :smt005 :smt003
Same here. Use it for awhile delegate to I should use that once and awhile.

I own a Radmini electric bike. It's foldable 20" fat tire bike. I've had it about a year and a half and only put about 60 miles on it. I'm thinking of letting it go. I just don't use it. I thought I'd use it for hunting on Forest Service roads but I never have.

I looked at e-bikes a couple of years ago when I had a knee problem, but decided I'd wait to see how the knee went.  The knee improved quickly, so I didn't think about it again until the rear-end of my beater non-e bike crapped out, and I was tired of putting $ into a cheap old bike, so as I thought about getting a new one, I wondered if the knee would hold up or I'd have a new bike I couldn't ride in a couple of months, then wanted something I could ride around town and into the hills.
So I bought a Giant XTC-e with tires heavy enough to ride the fire roads around Santa Cruz-Big Basin and I weigh about 200 lbs, and thought I'd need more  power than average and a tall bike.    I chose Giant because it's a big company and parts might be available in a few years when I need them, though there are other reliable big companies.
I ride it an average of 5 miles a day - some more, some less.  Love it.  It has more range than I'll ever need - 15 miles is a good workout for me in the hills, though the screen says I can go 50 miles on the charge and it seems pretty accurate.   I say that I go twice as far as I used to on non-e-bike, get just as tired, but my knees don't hurt.   I don't like riding it over 15mph, just seems too fast without pig iron around me, and especially around town, when I've got to watch for obstructions, etc..  so I'm usually on low power (of 3, no "Throttle"), and just climb through the 9 gears to keep the effort steady and get some exercise.  It's all about gravity and inertia (and to a lesser extent, wind, road surface, load).  So on the flats, it hardly needs any assist after getting moving. It takes about the same amount of time to charge as it did to discharge it riding.
Since I live in the bike-theft capitol of the west, I budgeted for some big-ass locks, but since I have e-assist, I don't mind how much they weigh.  For saddle bags, I just tied some school back-packs to the carrier, after cutting off the straps.

...  Since I live in the bike-theft capitol of the west ...

So true. When my son was at UCSC and living in an apartment off of Ocean St, his roommate left the garage door open for about 30 minutes and his bike disappeared.
