Seriously, I've been telling whomever will listen to come up with a reasonably priced drysuit (or almost dry suit) for the fishing market, make sure to reinforce the lap area, and they'll clean house.  If I put a hole in a pair of cheap waders, I don't feel so bad.  But bust a hole in an expensive drysuit and you'll see me cry.

I know this is a very old thread, but did you ever find anything else out about your REI Marlin? When I was a Boy Scout we made a large group purchase of these and used them to paddle around on week-long trips in Puget Sound. This would have all been around 1994-1995. I toured the facility where they were made, which was in or near Bellevue, Washington, but I cannot remember the name of the company, I could probably find it out if you still want to know.
