Would early morning launch and head back in before 11 be okay conditions to fish in?

The forecast (WNW Swell ~4ft, wind under 10mph) looks good. Potentially a little wind in the evening.

Bring your sunscreen!

JamesM just posted a report for HMB this week.  Looks like it's about to turn back on.  :smt003

Genghishan, that's usually the case for conditions at HMB.  Early launch and fish until the wind picks up.  Pay attention to the forecast and be ready to move back in quickly.  The gusts can come up quick and can kick your ass if you have to paddle/pedal into it.  Then, in late afternoon/evening, the wind usually settles back down.

I still could not find any site with good predictions for HMB, 4-5 @ 9s could easily become washing machine (but should be very doable anyways).

One thing is certain - wind always starts at about noon :)

And - don't forget about King's Rock. I'm surprised how many people I meet (including fishing close to it) now aware of it

I'm seeing the same swell data as you; I'm going to give her a go anyway.  hopefully not another fruitless effort

Anyone get any this morning? Saw a couple boats bringing in chrome halfway to the first green can, and saw another at the green can. Not even a scratch for me and my dad though. The thick fog and rising swell got us spooked so we headed in early around 1030.

Just a bunch of croakers for me today. Trolled crippled anchovy’s until noon then switched to rock fish for nothing. Wife gets mad if I come home empty handed so I kept 2 of the croakers for tonight’s dinner.

It was nice seeing fishbushing, plankton, and jkjhung out there as well. Cold, foggy, and bumpy all day.

Thanks for the pic Mark! I’ll probably be out out there again next Saturday. Patiently waiting for the hmb bite to turn on.
