So the little peg that locks down my fish ruler managed to break when I dropped it a couple days ago. What do y'all think is the best fix, crazy glue? Marine sealant?

I don't think marine sealant would do any good. Kragle is probably the only thing that stands a chance...

Could you put two dowels in it with a couple of screws before gluing it?

You could contact Loctite to find out what would work, from their website:

I love to fix stuff, but, sometimes ya gotta punt,

Call the manufacturer, tell'em what happened, you'd be surprised how often it works at a minimal or no cost.

Had to lookup Kragle,

And don’t forget the sword of exact zero...

Buy a new one.  And don't drop it.

I believe he tried to close it with the tab in the locked position... I might have done the exact same thing.

The best route to fuse that back together is to melt it with a soldering iron along the seam.  I haven't bothered doing it yet just lay it flat on my knees lol.

I would try two-parts epoxy to glue them back.

I would try two-parts epoxy to glue them back.

Seems to me that would be too brittle to do any good.

I think Bushy may be onto something, as opposed to usual, where he is just "on something"...

"On Something" in my case means On a Good Bite.  No drugs no alcohol 35 years.  But I think it's possible I be in a state of permanent flashback from all those acid trips.

This thread kinda cracks me up. We kayakers tend to be parsimonious (read: CHEAP) We are innovative and crafty.  Lots and Lots of great ideas in the history of this forum.  I was going to sarcastically suggest deepseadrew "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION" for answers to questions that have been covered here many many times.  haha 'little plastic piece!'  You can get an official NCKA Hawgtrough from HOJOMAN
