Rudder line maintenance

I'm going to be replacing the pulleys inside the TI that the up/down lines run through. While I'm at it I plan to untwist them as best I can. Anything else I should do while I'm at it? Is there any sort of waxing or treatment of the lines that might make them run smoother?

Just gonna say, it seems a lot harder than it is.  I was worried. 

Silicon grease?  It seems pretty slippery on my wetsuit zippers.
