reel repair seminar 6/30/07 at western sports

i will be hosting a reel repair seminar at western sport in san rafael, on saturday, june 30th, from 9am to 5pm.  the seminar is free, you just have to cover the cost of parts (if any).  for those of you that have not been to one before, it's a hands on seminar.  you tear the reel down, we make the changes and upgrades that the reel needs, and then you put it back together again.  i get to kibbutz.  post here for questions.  thanks!  alan

Western is taking telephone signups at 456-5454 for spots at Tani's repair table for 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. Participants will be limited to a two-hour session.

I was not able to make it to your reel seminar, however I did pull your web instructions for rebuilding a Penn 500  . Great info here. My question is I would like to change the drag washers. Would you recommend fiber or Teflon?
Also, I have a side plate that is damaged but has a good chrome ring. I have another side plate that is good with a bad chrome ring. Is it possible to switch out these rings on the side plates without damaging them?
