That's hilarious I am actually also in the market for one.  Santa Rosa has a ton of them on CL, and palo alto every now and then has some good deals on them used for breast milk as well.

some of these posts got me thinking upright, but man it's a toss up.  chest freezer is less room...

All the fillets and fish carcass I have from yesterday not to mentioned all my herrings. I need a bigger freezer.

I use horizontal freezers. To organize I use grocery bags and periodically rotate to surface older stuff. Been doing that for two years since I started living off of only meat and fish I hunt myself and it works pretty well.

Regardless of upright or horizontal, make sure it's a non-self-defrosting freezer. That's gonna help stuff last longer.

I got my chest freezer at Lowes about five years ago. Have no problems with it and it has been moved three times. It is almost full now and i have to do some clean up before heading to Alaska in a few weeks. It will be overflowing if I don't do house cleaning on it now
