Ok, so here is the official post:

Saturday July 14th I and my Bodega Crew mates are hosting a $$ between friends day of fishing.  The boundaries are all of Sonoma County...including freshwater just in case the weather does not cooperate.  We will use the Angler of the Year format and the angler with the highest overall points takes the pot. Entry fee will be 20, and if you like you can enter a photo in place of dead fish, but you will need to pick a sticker from me to verify that you caught the fish the day of competition.  I have space for ~10 tents and can put up 5-7 people in the game room.  There are several camp sites in the area as well.  You need not start from my house (Lil Red Farmhouse) but you must somehow get $$ to me prior to Saturday.  The weigh in will be 3PM at my house.  I have BBQ and fryer, we can bbq the salmon and fry up the lings! yehaw.  Also planning a beach bonfire either Friday or Saturday night or both?  bsteves will be posting some maps and details on the fishing possibilities, but mid July is salmon season in Bodega and the fleet is often right in front of my house.  lets hope mother nature cooperates, this could be an epic day.

Count me in! What's the best way to get $$ to you before the 14th? Please save me a camping spot for the 13th and 14th. I'll bring something for the BBQ and will help out as needed. Thanks, Jim!

If one of you who has never fished Bodega before comes up here and ends up at the weigh in with a ling, rockfish, and a halibut then I'm retiring from kayak fishing....lol.   :smt003

Sounds like it's gonna be a good time, count me  + 1 in.  I'd like a camping spot if you don't mind.

I am baching it that weekend and would love to participate. I do not need a campsite and will figure out a way to get you the entrance fee in time for the event. I have learned a lot from the folks at this site and because of the information picked up here was able to put a nice string of fish together at Russian Gulch last week in my first time fishing in the salt. I look forward to meeting some of the fine people that make up this community.

What a brilliant concept, Jim.  Darn but it does not look like we can make that weekend.  If y'all get salmon it will be way cool!!!!

Ok everyone the paypal is all setup!

You make life so easy, Bill! I'm all signed up and want to reassure you, Rock Hopper, that I won't be the newbie catching the ling, rockfish, and halibut--unless they inhabit the Russian River or Lake Sonoma! :smt010 But I'll give you a run for your money with 5-oz. trout! :smt005 Does that mean I get the primo camping spot?  :smt044

Jim - count me in for a camping spot at your place on Saturday night - I will sleep in my truck for safety reasons.....if was to sleep in my tent, someone will most likely set it on fire because of my loud snoring  :smt118 (Cpyak was close to doing that during the first Elk Tourney :smt011)
